Tom Grotewohl is the founder of ProtectThePorkies, a campaign and petition opposing the proposed Copperwood Mine in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan, a metallic sulfide mine which would store 30+ million tons of toxic waste at the juncture of Lake Superior, the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness, and the North Country Trail.
