Vegan Nation is a 1/2-hour radio show featuring vegan music, news, events and interviews. On-Air since 2015. Vegan Nation embraces the philosophy of authentic Veganism (Animal liberation) – practice of the Golden Rule, and an understanding of the Boomerang Effect (‘As we collectively sow, humanity inevitably reaps’). Without Animal liberation (authentic Veganism), humanity’s atrocities and injustices may eventually lead to global tyranny and dystopia…affecting someone, somewhere, in some way, at some time. Authentic Veganism (Animal liberation) is necessary for cultural transformation, health, social harmony, peace, freedom and justice.
Alice Dee is a vegan author, scientist and chef, as well as a passionate animal rights activist and longtime advocate for the liberation of non-human animals. After over 45 years of living first as a vegetarian and then as a vegan for ethical reasons, Alice has spent over a decade on the frontlines of the animal liberation movement, working to free animals from harmful and oppressive systems and to secure protective rights for them. Alice is currently leading the charge as the organizer of the 2025 National Animal Rights Day event in San Francisco on June 1st from 1–3 pm at UN Plaza, where the Northern California vegan and animal rights communities will unite in remembrance of the countless victims of animal agriculture and to promote a more compassionate, peaceful world.
As the founder of the grassroots organization We Care About Animals, Alice engages in powerful social media activism and participates in conferences, protests, activist court cases, vigils and street outreach, in close collaboration with groups like Direct Action Everywhere, Anonymous for the Voiceless, The Save Movement and Sea Shepherd, aiming to expose the cruelty of animal agriculture and inspire effective action to end it. Her activism is grounded in a deep, unwavering commitment to ending all forms of animal exploitation and unnecessary harm—principles she explores in her books Why Vegan? Reasons for Boycotting Animal Use and Why We Care About Animals.
Alice is also a pioneering raw vegan restaurateur, chef and recipe creator. She is the author of the popular raw cuisine book Raw Vegan Recipes and shares her culinary artistry online at Raw From the Garden and facebook.com/rawfromthegarden. A longtime resident of Mexico, where she founded and operated a vegan café, Alice also reimagined traditional Mexican dishes without animal products—culminating in her cookbook Mexican Vegan Cuisine. As a trained nutritional healer and herbologist, Alice now helps people reverse chronic health conditions and improve their overall well-being and athletic performance through plant-based nutrition. Her science-based approach to wellness always reflects her core mission: creating a healthy, cruelty-free world for all sentient beings. Through culinary workshops, articles, interviews and public speaking, Alice now educates others on plant-based nutrition, raw vegan cuisine and natural approaches to nutritional healing.
