Vegan Nation radio celebrates Abolition Day  – December 6th! In this 2-Part episode, we celebrate the 13th Amendment and also the proposed constitutional amendment, the Abolition Amendment, drafted December 6, 2016. In Part 1 (November 29th) and Part 2 (December 6th), we are rebroadcasting the interview with Shelley Harrison, the primary author of the Abolition Amendment. Shel joined us on Vegan Nation radio in December 2016.  All Vegan Nation interviews with Shel Harrison 

Abolition Day was created in 2015 by the Humane Party to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 13th Amendment, December 6, 1865. The proposed constitutional amendment, Abolition Amendment, final draft published on Abolition Day, December 6, 2016.  (Written by volunteers of the Humane Party)  This proposed amendment can be used by any political party.  (Note:  Section 1 of this Abolition Amendment also eradicates the cause in the 13th Amendment, for which slavery is still acceptable, in the case of incarcerated humans.)

The 13th Amendment was ratified to officially end human slavery in the USA; and upon ratification, the Abolition Amendment will end all slavery in the USA. As Shel relays in this Part 1 & 2 interview, even though the 13th Amendment was ratified in 1865, there is still ongoing work that needs to be done to manifest equality, freedom & justice.
