Abolition Day was launched in 2015 both to commemorate the end of human #slavery in the U.S. (1865) and to promote the #abolition of all slavery.
Vegan Nation celebrates ABOLITION DAY! Tune in on Abolition Day, December 6th (12/06/18) to hear Part 2 of the interview with Shelley Harrison, the primary author/editor of the Abolition Amendment. This show is a rebroadcast of Shel’s 2016 Vegan Nation interview, in which he explains the full text of the proposed constitutional amendment, Abolition Amendment, published on December 6, 2016.
Abolition Day was created in 2015 by the Humane Party to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 13th Amendment, December 6, 1865; and the current proposed constitutional amendment, the Abolition Amendment, final draft published on December 6, 2016.
The 13th Amendment was ratified to officially end human slavery in the USA; and upon ratification, the Abolition Amendment will end all slavery in the USA. As Shel relays in this Part 1 & 2 interview, even though the 13th Amendment was ratified in 1865, there is still ongoing work that needs to be done to manifest equality, freedom & justice.
