Independence Day. Veganism. Freedom – July 4, 2023

Listen to the replay at the link above. Vegan Nation celebrates the Fourth of July, Independence Day with “The Interconnectedness between Veganism and Freedom”, an interview with Dr. Susan Craig in Northern California. Tune in Tues., July 4, 2023. 4 pm Eastern Daylight Time. WCUW 91.3 FM, online worldwide: wcuw.org/listen Hosted by Marlene Narrow, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. Dr. Craig discusses practices in global contemporary society including geoengineering, climate engineering, climate collapse, the exploitation of children (and animals), as well as the current trend in the attempt to ‘erase women’, and how a global shift to authentic veganism (animal liberation) is essential to co-create freedom & heal the “deep disease in humanity’s soul”. She also shares great news about her healthy 9 dogs & 4 cats, who are (and have been for many years), fed a vegan diet.

Vegan Nation is a 1/2 hour radio show, On-Air since 2015. Thank you for caring enough to hear and be heard, and much thanks for your compassionate Vegan activism.

Dr. Susan Craig lives at her off-grid homestead in Northern California, Happy Chihuahua Acres, with a multitude of non-human refugees. She has been an animal rights vegan for over 30 years. She moved to her rural homestead in 2018 after her home was destroyed in a wildfire. Susan holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership and had a lengthy career as a public school teacher, administrator, and college faculty member in the San Francisco Bay Area prior to becoming a farmer. Susan has trained extensively in Grow Biointensive sustainable and veganic gardening methodology with John Jeavons since 2018. In addition to growing food crops, seed saving, and managing a small private animal sanctuary, Susan teaches Grow Biointensive gardening classes and engages in vegan advocacy. Being vegan as a moral baseline for living is the core guiding principle of her life. Susan is a founding member of the newly established North American Veganic Certification Standard.

Francisco, the mostly black goat and Lupe, the smaller spotted goat, are residents at Happy Chihuahua Acres, a Certified Veganic mini-farm and private animal sanctuary.

Francisco was exploited in a working grazing herd of goats who were confined and denied their freedom to escape a California wildfire. The owners evacuated themselves to safety but did not give the goats the courtesy of even opening the gate so the goats could flee. Francisco witnessed his family and friends being burned alive and spent several weeks in burn treatment at U.C. Davis veterinary clinic. He is the only goat from his herd to survive.

Lupe was destined for a lifetime of being raped, having her babies kidnapped at birth, and being sexually exploited for her milk at a large goat milk dairy farm. A bout of pneumonia made her ineligible for commodification and was her golden ticket to rescue and freedom from abuse. Happy Chihuahua Acres (Email: drsusancraig@icloud.com)
